BUCKSPORT — After breezing through the month of October, the Bucksport and Mattanawcook Academy football teams are set to battle one another yet again on the big stage.The No. 2 Golden Bucks and No. 3 Lynx will face off in the Class D North semifinals at 7 p.m. next Friday, Nov. 2, at Bucksport High School. The game will be a rematch of last year’s semifinal game between the two teams, which Bucksport won 49-6.The game will mark the second time this season Bucksport and Mattanawcook have played one another. The Golden Bucks beat the Lynx 50-36 when the two teams met in Bucksport on Sept. 28.Both teams have dominated their Little Ten Conference opponents since that encounter; the Golden Bucks (7-1) followed the victory with wins of 57-18, 61-22 and 46-0, while the Lynx (7-2) have outscored opponents by a combined margin of 226-8 over four games.This is placeholder textThis is placeholder textMattanawcook beat No. 6 Mount View 54-0 in Friday’s regional quarterfinals. Bucksport had a bye to the semifinals as the No. 2 seed.Tomorrow’s winner will take on either No. 1 Foxcroft (8-0) or No. 5 Washington Academy (5-4) in the Class D North championship game at 7 p.m. Nov. 9. The top remaining seed in the field will host the game.
