Experiencing the “Zen” of lifestyle starts from learning to appreciate the DNA of each type of material: the sense of time conveyed by tree rings, the brushstroke textures reflected in the coating materials or maybe the resilience shown by twisting steel. Through design, we create an emotional effect that is in harmony with the client’s frame of mind.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseThis project is located in Kaohsiung’s Agricultural 16th Special Zone, close to Riverbank Park, the commercial district and the art gallery. It is the ideal residential area for culture and education. The owners are a husband-wife couple, who are both physicians, living together with their two daughters. The master prefers the simple Zen style and the mistress prefers a Nordic style, simple and natural. The older daughter is outgoing and active while the younger daughter is gentle and quiet. The owners wish to create an ideal playground for their daughters in the home.Save this picture!PlanHAO Design observed that the home has the advantage of direct sunlight in every direction but the existing layout is too fragmented. After considering the frequency of each room’s usage, we decided to remove two rooms and re-arrange the home into a 2+1 layout. A sliding door is used to flexibly enhance the common space. When the door is shut, the multi-function room can be private enough to be used as a guest room. We also transformed the third washroom into a change room in order to increase the storage space.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseIn the past, designer Ch’en Hung-Wen often used the method of “shared functions” to provide a diverse sense of lifestyle to a small space. To ensure that this home is sufficiently spacious, he dramatically partitioned the functional areas of the space into the living room, dining table, bar, desk and leisure room. The tatami bed has a ten-centimeter thick cushion. The entire home has a rich sense of movement.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseThe most interesting part is the designs of the multifunction room and the children’s room. These two areas are not partitioned by a solid wall but rather a large wardrobe is installed in a manner similar to a secret base. The wardrobe comes with a pastel round-shaped door, leading to a tunnel, and sits on sliding rails. Doors of different designs may be interchanged up and down in a flexible fashion in order to freely adjust the position of the entrance and exit to the room. Pull-up bar handles are installed under the ceiling to turn the wardrobe into a viewing platform that can be closed off or opened through at will. The dynamic functions evoke the joy of playing hide-and-seek.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseTo achieve an approachable and down-to-earth visual effect, the atrium floor makes use of chiseled stone tiles and the screen is made of weaved iron netting. There is dark-colored slate tiling behind the piano. On one side, three aspen wood decorations are emplaced next to the kitchen. Some ceilings are ornamented with a linear grille to create a refined Zen style.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseThe furnishing (windows pane, table surface, shelves, cabinets and storage racks) makes full use of solid wood. The bookshelf wall in the study room is designed to emphasize the feeling of volume and enhance the warm of a family home.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseThe four-pane sliding doors that control the openness of the common public space use Kirby’s Italian-style plaster and pastel wallpaper.Using different combinations of opening and shutting, three spatial expressions can be created together with the “Lotos” cement solid wall. Featuring a special coating with a rustic texture and hand-crafted furniture, an elegant and casual home is hereby created.Save this picture!© Hey!CheeseProject gallerySee allShow lessHouston Museum of Fine Arts / Lake|Flato ArchitectsSelected ProjectsMontauk House / Desai Chia ArchitectureSelected Projects Share Houses ShareFacebookTwitterPinterestWhatsappMailOrhttps://www.archdaily.com/904599/innocence-in-zen-hao-design Clipboard Innocence in Zen / HAO designSave this projectSaveInnocence in Zen / HAO designSave this picture!© Hey!Cheese+ 47Curated by 韩爽 – HAN Shuang Share Photographs Area:  183 m² Year Completion year of this architecture project center_img CopyAbout this officeHAO DesignOfficeFollowProductsWoodGlassStone#TagsProjectsBuilt ProjectsSelected ProjectsResidential ArchitectureHousesKaohsiung CityGaoxiongTaiwan (ROC)Published on October 28, 2018Cite: “Innocence in Zen / HAO design” 28 Oct 2018. first_imgAfter quickly and quietly giving out “Know Your Rights” leaflets to every passenger in the Greyhound waiting room here on July 27, and before security could figure out what was happening, activists walked out of the station and set up a picket line outside the terminal where they held a street meeting, urging people to boycott Greyhound. Fight for Im/migrants and Refugees Everywhere (FIRE) called the action.Picket line set up by activists from FIRE (Fighting for Im/migrants and Refugees Everywhere) at Houston Greyhound station July 27.Greyhound security immediately ordered activists to leave or threatened that they would call Houston police. The FIRE spokesperson responded, saying that security could call the police, but no one was leaving because they were on public property, had a right to be there and riders needed to hear their message. Activists continued to hand out the bilingual flyers and speak on a bullhorn. Passengers going into and coming out of the terminal eagerly took flyers and listened to the speakers. Many asked questions. The Greyhound terminal is on Main Street, just outside of downtown Houston, and the passengers were a very multinational group of working-class people.Demonstrators gave out hundreds of flyers and held discussions on the issues with both passengers and employees. Most riders were surprised that Border Patrol would even get on a bus, and all were glad to learn that they didn’t have to show any documentation, whatever their status. When two carloads of cops arrived, Greyhound security told them to tell protesters to leave. As the cops explained that protesters could be outside as long as they weren’t blocking people from entering or exiting, the deflated security guards backed off.Several Greyhound employees came out to ask questions. Activists asked one bus driver if his union had taken a position on Border Patrol getting on buses. He said  he didn’t know, but he was going to take photos of the demonstrators and give the flyers to the union to find out. He said he didn’t feel Border Patrol should be allowed on his bus.FIRE heard no negative comments about immigrants. Activist Mirinda Crissman said, “We were pleased that we didn’t encounter any Trump supporters or people who had bought into his racism about migrants and refugees. People were receptive to our information.”After a while, the head security guard came out and apologized for his loud, confrontational attitude. He had never encountered demonstrators before and just assumed a loud group couldn’t be outside Greyhound’s door.“Now our task is to find out if there are any buses people can take as an alternative to Greyhound. That way we can refer passengers to other carriers,” said FIRE organizer Tania Siddiqi.  “This is a good bus station to be at. People are receptive and responded with many questions.” She suggested we get the “Know Your Rights” information translated into several other languages.  Another activist suggested holding an action at Greyhound’s corporate office in Dallas.Houston FIRE organizers say this new campaign will continue.FacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmailPrintMoreShare thisFacebookTwitterWhatsAppEmailPrintMoreShare thislast_img read more

The decision to introduce GOtv Boxing Night Mini was announced on Monday by the organisers, Flykite Productions.According to the organisers, GOtv Boxing Night Mini, which will hold more frequently at various venues, will give boxers more opportunities to fight and build their fight profiles to increase their eligibility for international titles.Speaking in separate interviews, boxers commended the sponsors for increasing the opportunities to fight, saying many talented ones seeking avenues will benefit from GOtv Boxing Night Mini.Kamaru “Slow Poison” Aremu, a boxer yet to make his professional bow, said he believes that his chances of getting an opportunity to fight have been boosted with the introduction of GOtv Boxing Night Mini. “I like GOtv Boxing Night and I have tried to be on the bill a few times, but I have not succeeded. With GOtv Boxing Night Mini, which will hold more regularly than the big ones, I believe that boxers in my shoes will have opportunities to fight and also feature at the main event,” he said. A similar sentiment was expressed by Sikiru “Omo Iya Eleja” Shogbesan, who has had one fight at GOtv Boxing Night, but is seeking more to boost his fight profile.According to him, the competition for spots on the bill at the main event is stiff, making it tough to be selected.“GOtv are about the only serious sponsors of boxing in Nigeria. It means getting to fight at the main event is tough. But with the mini edition, boxers stand to have more opportunities, as GOtv Boxing Night Mini will hold more frequently,” he said excitedly. Rilwan “Real One” Oladosu, West African Boxing Union (WABU) lightweight champion, who is billed to fight at the maiden edition, said the tournament will provide him an opportunity to keep in shape for the African Boxing Union lightweight title bout against incumbent champion, Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph, in December. Both boxers were billed to clash for the title at GOtv Boxing Night 20. The bout had to be postponed, following a shoulder injury suffered by Joe Boy.Aside from Oladosu, boxers scheduled to fight at the maiden edition of GOtv Boxing Night Mini are Rilwan “Baby Face” Babatunde, West African Boxing Union welterweight champion; Waheed “Skoro” Usman, former African Boxing Union featherweight champion; Kabiru “KB Godson” Towolawi and Opeyemi “Sense” Adeyemi.Babatunde, a graduate of GOtv Boxing NextGen Search, thanked the sponsors for the initiative, saying the tournament will help keep boxers in good shape.
