Photo credit: flags.netBRADES, Montserrat (GUI) – The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force, along with the Trinidad and Tobago Police Force, have been supporting the ongoing investigation into the suspicious death of George Allen Jr. confirmed Commissioner of the Royal Montserrat Police Service, Steve Foster on Monday.Foster told the media that Allen, also known as Ezra David, passed away on June 28 in Trinidad and Tobago where he was receiving medical care from a gunshot wound sustained around March 17 or 18 on Montserrat.The top officer said colleagues from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force are presently conducting a peer review of the evidence collected and the case. The Trinidad and Tobago police have also been assisting with forensic analysis and supporting Montserratian officers who were sent to the twin-island nation several times over the course of Allen being in hospital.The Montserrat police are receiving reciprocal assistance from the BVI as part of a co-operation agreement on reciprocal law enforcement assistance between the Caribbean Overseas Territories.Foster said the case is considered an “unnatural/suspicious death” until such time as the coroner’s inquest rules it differently. Allen never regained consciousness since being medivaced to Trinidad and undergoing two surgeries to help release pressure on his brain.An autopsy has now been completed but the results have not been released.
